The school year is off to a great start and it’s been wonderful to see familiar and new faces! This year during my in-classroom counseling time (where I go into a class once week), my goal is to help all students develop further awareness of their own thinking, social behaviors, as well as, learn strategies to help them increase the tools they need to become more successful as a student and a person! In our K-3rd grade classes we will be practicing how to solve our own small problems with the help of Kelso the Frog. Click here for my blog and learn more about the Frog!
In our 4th-8th grade classes we will begin the year by learning about self regulation. To help us dive into what this means, we will be exploring the Zones of Regulation! Zones of Regulation is a social/emotional curriculum that helps students identify and pair what emotion and zone they’re in, so they know what tools work best for them to stay or get back to the green zone .
I’m excited and am looking forward to the new year ahead!
